Leg Waxing

Leg waxing is a cosmetic procedure available at Brandon Essentials where body wax is used to remove unwanted leg hair. The type of wax used during our process is a soft wax, which is applied to the skin very thinly and a muslin strip is applied on top of the wax to remove the hair.

Leg waxing is performed in five simple steps:

  1. Wash and dry the skin thoroughly.
  2. Dust the leg with talcum or baby powder to prevent the wax from sticking to the skin.
  3. Apply the wax and set muslin cloth in place.
  4. Peel the wax away quickly and remove any residue.
  5. Apply a soothing solution to the waxed area.
Waxing differs from other methods of temporary hair removal in that it removes the hair from the root, so that the time it takes for the hair to grow back is lengthened considerably.
Waxing Compared To Shaving
Frequent shaving can damage the skin, while waxing has less of an impact. Waxing also removes the leg hair from the root and leaving your skin smoother a longer period than shaving—up to 3 or 4 weeks compared to 3 to 5 days. Waxing regularly can cause the hair to grow back thinner and finer because the hair is pulled from the root. Shaving on the other hand only clips the hair at the surface of the skin, so it has no effect on the regrowth.
Benefits of Brandon Essentials Leg Waxing
For women, leg hair is typically viewed upon as unfeminine, and is removed early in life, usually at the start of the teen or pre-teenage years. Waxing provides weeks of hair free legs with minimal effort.
Leg waxing is also common for athletes, especially swimmers and bodybuilders. The removal of hair from the body can help swimmers glide through the water more efficiently. And bodybuilders opt for hair removal to highlight their musculature and enhance their tautness.
