Brazilian Waxing

Brazilian Waxing 2018-04-06T05:14:35+00:00

A Brazilian wax is different from a bikini or a French wax, which only removes the hair from the sides around your bikini line. A Brazilian wax removes all of the hair from the labia to the rear.

Shaving, especially your bikini area, can be tedious and time consuming. A Brazilian wax is a good alternative to shaving – and it lasts a lot longer. During a Brazilian wax, the hair is removed from the root instead of being cut at the skin level, so it lasts longer than shaving – typically up to 6 weeks.

What happens in there?

During your first visit, your esthetician will provide an overview of the whole process so you know what to expect from start to finish. Our estheticians are extremely professional and well-trained. There is no need to feel embarrassed or nervous, and every effort will be made to make you feel as comfortable as if you were at home.

Unlike other bikini waxes, for Brazilian waxes, our estheticians use soft wax. Soft wax is applied with a waxing spatula before being removed using a muslin strip. Soft wax is actually more effective than hard wax and less painful for clients during a Brazilian because the hair is extra coarse and it grows in different directions.

Before arriving for a Brazilian wax, we ask that our clients trim their pubic hair to half an inch. The shorter length makes the removal process more efficient (and less painful than waxing longer hairs), but clients should ensure that they don’t trim too short, otherwise the wax may not be able to grab the hairs.

After the waxing is complete, and all hairs have been removed, a small amount of baby powder is applied to reduce any redness or swelling in the treated area. Baby powder has a natural cooling property which helps to eliminate any irritation that waxing may have caused.

Does it hurt?

Pain is subjective, so there is no right answer here. For some individuals, the waxing can be described as a brief and sudden pain, much like ripping off a bandage, while others only feel minor discomfort. As with many beauty regimes (like eyebrow waxing), the more you do it, the easier it gets. Your body gets used to being waxed and any pain or discomfort you feel diminishes over time.
